About a week and a half ago, we found a ground floor unit in Ewa Beach. We are still organizing our stuff, and it can get overwhelming!! In the process we've found a bunch of junks we need to get rid of. And realized that since we are with child now, I must purge my Mt. TBR since I most likely won't have time to read them all. I'll be posting things to give away or sell on classifieds websites and under the "Store" tab here on the left. I'll most likely be using Craigslist, Bookoo, and Half.

Baby's responding to stimuli and is getting really strong. I'm guessing this one has the Dad's calves. Responds when I play the Ray LaMontagne radio on Pandora and eat ice cream. :

Baby is starting to move, with a vengeance! Movements now range from fluttering, to karate kicking on my lower portions. Baby is also starting to disturb sleep, startling me with sudden strong kicks and waking me with consistent movement. Active little one, but gets shy when Daddy tries to feel.

What sucks about being on Team Green is use of pronouns. "He"? "She"? We don't like referring to baby as "it." So hard not to just use one or the other. We often catch each other preferring one gender pronoun when we speak. -V

Yes, I'm a reader. I own a Kindle 2, but still has dead tree books (DTB) on my shelves. I don't really feel the need to be preferring one over the other since it's not really how you read....just read! For those who want some insight or thoughts on this (IMO) unnecessary debate, here it is.

I love my Kindle. I love the fact that I can read any Amazon Kindle content on almost any device. I love that I can pretty much make my own eBook and "convert" school content to read on my Kindle. I love that I can still highlight, bookmark, and make notes....then share them on those addictive networking websites right from the Kindle device or app. EBooks are generally cheaper than DTBs. In my experience, it's like a "buy 2 get one free" deal. But quite honestly, I've yet to reap the financial benefit of buying a $250 device (at the time). I didn't save that much yet on buying eBooks, but the device is worth the money for my purposes. It definitely saved me the back ache since I have a bunch of usually thick nursing reference books in it, and carry them in my small purse rather than a huge backpack. Also, by going digital, you save trees. Reduce the demand of DTBs, and lower cost to the consumer. Yeah, I guess I'm some kind of hippie/environmentalist.

Yet from what I see, for those who grew up with DTBs, we think there's nothing better than going to the bookstore, seeing all those books all colorful and lined up in shelves. Holding an actual book, being able to really turn the pages and feel the paper. To some, a bookshop or library is like a wet dream. Seeing the amount of information and adventures. The more mass it takes up, the more exciting. (I myself am in the market for a new bookshelf for this purpose.) There's no need to spend more than $100. Reading can cost as low as free. When you're done, you can sell it, trade it, gift it, etc. With digital, you're stuck with it if you buy protected eBooks.

In conclusion, again, it's not about how you read it, it's just about enjoying the content.

To start off the new year (a few days late though), I've decided to try a weight loss program I found from the Women's Health website. It's a 6-week program that aims to help lose 12 pounds. Done right, I'd be 12 pounds lighter by Valentine's day. The food plan aspect of it seems a little unrealistic for me, since I've yet to master the art of cooking. But looking at the recipes in the program, those shouldn't be too hard to follow. Just a matter of following through. Realistically, if this plan helps me lose 6, or even just break 140, then I

Back on the bandwagon. Keep the motivations coming because this time I'm hoping to stay in the path toward losing weight! According to "sources," "you are overweight." Trying not to go to the pricey gym and trying to do workouts and yoga at home. Also, using the wii as my scale and one-stop shop for info such as BMI and calorie check. And after a few consecutive days of body tests, my console says I have lost around 0.7 pounds!

My philosophy on this is not consistency of what I do...but consistency of how much. My main goal is to lose the weight. So far since starting, let's just say it's been days since I've complained of pretty bad back problems and a day of toothaches went away. And not a pill went into my mouth! Well, I just take vitamin/multi supplements in the form of a shake! So far, so good, and I hope to be able to continue this once school starts!

Watched the movie last night. Jake Gyllenhaal, Tobey Mcguire, Natalie Portman. So sad and made me miss Emil so much, especially during a Homecoming scene. I would say this movie is well written. One scene looked like Natalie Portman was having a hard time getting tears to fall. As a soon-to-be military wife, this movie makes me realize things to be gravely afraid of and the storyline really hits home. Love it!!

Just finished of what's Lost so far. Took me 15 days to watch every episode, Seasons 1-5. So confusing, but better than I thought. I almost gave up around Season 3 because [spoiler!] they still never got off the island, nor have they had any progress toward that. They became too obsessed about "the Others" and the "Dharma Initiative" story. Then breakthrough, they finally show previews of the future. ugh. "ok, fine, I'll stay."

Yeah, I'm not much of a blogger. Update tho! DONE WITH NURSING FINALS!! [for this semester, unfortunately] But not that future hubby can financially support me and pay my phone for me and stuff, I feel better about staying unemployed and focusing on my studies. I should be able to do much better next semester, and there's no excuse.

Got my new iMac, rings, games since my last post. Also got to watch "Lost" and after 3 or 4 seasons, it's getting tiring and I don't think I would've lasted that long if I waited for it every week.

Anyhoo, Happy Holidays everyone!

Yeah, check out the new stuff in links and the thingy on the home page that you have most likely already seen.
